Let’s see how the mayor is getting the city ready to welcome them from Texas.
Since December 2022, thousands of migrants have made their way to Denver and it looks like Texas Governor Greg Abbott is not yet done.
It all started when in April 2022 when Abbott started the migrant-busing program. They sent a large number of people to Washington, D.C., Chicago, New York City, and Philadelphia. Other than these drop-off locations, Gov. Greg Abbott sent many migrants to Denver and more than 10,000 of them have been sent so far.

How Is Denver Preparing To Handle The Situation?
According to a media report, two different organizations are currently working to collect items for the migrants. One of them accepts donations and this money is to be spent on migrants coming to the Colorado city.
Other than this, Mayor Michael Hancock announced on May 11 that they had reactivated the emergency operations center of the city because they were expecting an influx of migrants. Hundreds of people have already arrived in Denver and people working at emergency shelters are actively performing their duties.

The Denver Dream Center at 2165 Curtis St. is collecting the following items.
- Soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and deodorants
- Hygiene product kits
- Diapers and baby wipes
- Undergarments for men and women
Also, the Potters House of Denver on Florida Avenue can be contacted for donations. Their email ID is donations@denvergov.org. In a statement, Hancock said that Denver is not able to handle the situation alone. The reserves are limited but they are trying their best.
In order to help them out, we, the citizens, can donate as much money as possible. Even a single US dollar will mean a lot to change the current situation of migrants coming from Texas. Officials need our support and we need them too. There is no reason to leave these outsiders alone because this may create a lot more problems for our beautiful city.
